New Jersey Internet Radio is proud to announce our 2017 Coach of the Year is North Hunterdon's Jarad Mazzetta. Coach Mazzetta took over the football program in 2014 and in his fourth season led his team to a thrilling State Final at MetLife Stadium and defeated arch rival Phillipsburg 21-20. This was North’s first title game appearance since 1978 and the victory capped an 11-1 season for the Lions and gave them the first since title since 1975. Mazzetta has been physical education teacher and strength coach before being named head coach in February 2014. Coach Mazzetta is no stranger to winning football teams. He is a 2000 graduate of Hunterdon Central, and was on two state championship football teams. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelors and master’s degree. While doing that he lettered 4 years in football, named captain his senior year, won an ACC championship and played in the Sugar Bowl.
